The LocaL - Staten Island: Reviews & Ratings
Have always enjoyed coming here over the years.Todays experience was no different except for when the bill came. A very modest lunch turned out to be more than expected. Either the menu prices need to be updated or I was overcharged. A Ceasar salad is listed as $12, add chicken for $5. Math tells be that comes to $17. Was charged $19. A single espresso, which wasn't displayed on the lunch menu came to $6. Nowhere on the island have I ever paid $6 for a single espresso . Little things like this are enough to get a customer upset. It will be a long time before I come back, if I come back.
I had a fantastic dining experience at The Local! The highlight of my meal was the Asian Calamari—perfectly crispy, with just the right balance of sweet and spicy flavors. It was hands down one of the best I've had. The service was equally impressive; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a night out. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu. Highly recommend!
The restaurant is broken down into two separate sections: the bar and the more intimate dining area. We opted to sit in the more quiet and intimate dining area, which had a nice fire place and beautiful Christmas decor to give off a warm family vibe. Our waitress, Jessica, went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful first dining experience at The LocaL, where she addressed our minor concerns and socialized with us in a welcomed and extremely friendly manner; Jessica is reflective of what exemplary service looks like and she definitely helped enhance our overall dining experience! Now onto the food: the is by far one of the most affordable restaurants I've been to in Staten Island, where the portion and quality for the price is definitely worth it. The French onion soup and Picasso burger were both phenomenal and I can't recommend it enough! The zucchini fries were humongous for the price (as you can see in the photo) and totally filling! A minor issue we encountered were that the price from the menu mismatched the price on our receipt, a few days were either a dollar or two less or a dollar or two more, so check your bill! Will definitely come back to try their extensive menu for I'm sure there are still so much more deliciousness to be discovered here! Thank you again to Jessica for being so friendly and kind, hope to see you again soon! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:
Just had my grandson's birthday party here. The food servers (Karen and Paul) were fantastic! They were so kind and helpful. They went over and above to make our party a great success. The food was excellent. I highly recommend The Local for a stress free and wonderful party.
I had the pleasure of eating at The Local tonight. Everything was excellent! Starters: Brocolli Rabe & Sausage Egg Rolls, Pepper Jack's Famous Steak Tips and Asian Calamari !!! We had the Strawberry Ricotta Salata Salad (I could have eaten the whole platter). Finale: Chicken Parm Alfredo, so much cheese!!! And the Rigatoni Bolognese!!!! Thank you for a wonderful meal and the great service.
I rarely give a restaurant five stars but this is well deserved. Super friendly service which is always important to me. We had the French onion soup and sirloin tips for appetizer and they were delicious. I had the Blackened Burger and it was cooked to perfection. My wife had the Caesar Salad and enjoyed every bite. Another big plus for me was that the place was very clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, would definitely visit again.
This was the 4th time I've been to The Local and it's always great. This area was lacking an excellent American casual/fancy restaurant and it's become our go to place. Aptly named with photos of bygone North Shore landmarks on the walls. Always excellent service and a menu that should suit everyone. The appetizers are plentiful and all delicious!
Had my bridal shower in the private room and let me just say, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING AND DELICIOUS. This is a restaurant/bar fusion that serves delicious food and great drinks! Definitely try the Asian Calamari and Steak tips. Those are 100/10!!! The private room was elegant, beautiful and clean. And it was HUGE. I highly recommend this restaurant for event/date nights or top of the bucket list of places to eat in Staten Island.
